What is it?
Start the race in white with your Colour Blast Dash T-shirt and Race number. Make your clothes as happy as you like (we encourage dress up and team themes) to suit you. You are each armed with one packet or personal paint to enjoy throwing at each other or at the end finish party paint release. Get as happy with the colour as you can, we hope to see the full colours of the rainbow displayed by the end of the race. We only ask that paint thrown by competitors is done so within the paint stations and that you aim for the body and not for the face.

I have completed the on-line order form but have not had a confirmation or tickets. What do I do?
Our system is automated so a response would have been sent out straightway. Please check both your email Inbox and your Spam folder for a booking confirmation from Activate (not from The Laura Centre). If you still can’t find it, please email happy@colourblastdash.org and we will resend it to you.

Do I need to be a great runner to do this?
This is not about speed or performance (unless you want it to be) it’s about having a happy and fun time. This event is for all ages and ability, if you want to walk, dance,…  that’s no problem.
Is The Colour Blast Dash timed?
This is not a timed event.  People tend to enjoy the experience by taking their time. If time matters to you then we suggest self-timing for anyone desiring a finish time.

Can I walk and still be Colour Blaster?
Absolutely, this event is for all ages and ability’s. Walk, sprint, jog…its entirely up to you!!

How does a Colour Blast Dash compare with a solo runner?
You register as a (4 minimum) team rather than as an individual.  Pick a cool team name, anything goes here but keep it clean please…this is a charity family event. You then get to compete/enjoy together either completing the event together or separating out and splashing colour all the way

What is the inspiration behind Colour Blast Dash tm?
Cope-The Laura Centre wanted to create an annual event that provided a healthy, happy activity for all ages and abilities as a sustainable source for their invaluable work. Times are tough and it’s time to share a little love for your hard earned donations. The event is based on Disney’s colour party’s (Paris), Mud run’s & assault courses already running the UK and the Indian communities Holi Festivals enjoyed by many of Leicester’s population. We wanted to create a safe and happy environment for people to have a little fun in these tough economic times. We are one of the first to run this type of event in the UK and hope participants will enjoy and support us in the future.

Can I Volunteer?
Yes sir-ee!! We depend on our Colour Blast Regiment to make the event as fun and happy as possible. In return you get a Colour Blast T-shirt and the satisfaction of aiding this amazing charity in its quest to provide a positive and happy event for people in the heart of country. Come and join us

Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids within the Rainbow Rascals event?
Of course but with the understanding that the equipment used will get coloured with paint throughout the event. We cannot guarantee that this will all come off so you do so at your own risk!  Your can clean up at on of the cleaning/brush down stations on the way out but this will not get you 100% clean.

Can I run with my dog?
NO DOGS or animals are allowed to participate within the race itself but are welcome to watch the fun.

Is there an age limit for younger runners?
We set the age limit for the Rainbow Rascals race at 4+ so they can fully enjoy the event without feeling overwhelmed. If you have a little one who you want to take with you on the course then you can do so, but please use your own judgement. All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult within the Colour Dash Rascals race. The tickets here are half the price of the 5k to allow that both adult and child will need a ticket.

Is there a packet pick up for the event? How does all that work?
Yes a paint pick up station will be located within the event village on the day of the race, Please arrive early to collect and avoid any rushing. A map for this location is on our registration page and included within the race documents found online It will be clearly sign-posted on the day

Can someone else collect my paint?
You must do this in person with your race number as your ID. No race number, no paint! Only one paint packet per person so don’t let your race number out of your sight.

How is the colour splashed at the event?
This is a family event with a gentle administration of the colours squirted by our Colour Blast Regiment, volunteer recruits showering you, at each colour station. We do encourage runners to throw their own paint and ask for everyone to be considerate to each other with particlaur consideration to the young

Will the colour stain clothes or running shoes?
The colour powders used for this event are 100% natural and safe but some colours may leave marks on your clothing so we suggest wearing items you don’t mind keeping as a reminder of your day. There are brush off stations to clean up afterwards and we would say the sooner you clean the paint off the better chance of your whites being white again. But lets face it…….surely you want a rainbow reminder of this madness?

Do the Colour Blast stations effect breathing or vision?
The Colour Blast Dash paints are food grade potato starch and are 100% natural and safe.  As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our rainbow regiment make sure to aim low as you pass by.  We would recommend running in sunglasses or goggles to be the coolest Colour Dasher in town. The paints should provide no breathing issues although some runners opt for a bandana or mask over their mouths (particularly if they have any medical concerns surrounding respiration). If you are concerned please run through the middle of the paint station as this provides the least amount of colour for your experience.

Do you have “cleaning stations” at the finish after party?
Yes. Cleaning or brush off stations are at the finish line so you can get rid of most (but not all) of the paint ahead of getting back into your cars. Lets face it, you have had a great time so wear your colours with pride. It will be great to see the city centre alive with rainbows clohting for the afternoon.

Will the colour affect the inside of cars?
We suggest using an old towel or bin liner to sit on during your journey home. Even better is a change of clothes to protect the inside of your car.

Are cameras and phones safe to have in the Rainbow Stations?
Our race photographers will be shooting from around 30 feet away.  If you want to get shots right in the midst of the colour we recommend covering cameras/phones with plastic wrap.

How does the finish line party work?
We suggest all runners linger close to the finish line after finding their friends etc. We will be having a finish party paint release at 45 minutes and 1 hour after the start time. Runners and spectators can release paint in the air whilst our photographers shoot your action. Enjoy

Can I get refund?
We do not offer refunds. We do offer a 7 day cool off period where you can transfer or release your place at the event. Following this you can transfer a place to a friend by emailing us your race number and details with that of your replacement.

How do I transfer my registration to another person?
Simply contact the Colour Blast Dash team on 0116 2544341 or at www.colourblastdash.org and send your race number and details along with your replacement. They will need to supply an email address, telephone number etc to complete the transfer. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds against this so any arrangements should be arranged personally.

What if I have a question that isn’t answered here?
Please email happy@colourblastdash.org or call The Laura Centre 0116 254 4341 with any queries and we will get back to you in a colour minute.

What happens if the weather is its usual cheery British self?
Colour Blast Dash will happen even if the good old British weather comes to darken our day. We won’t let it!! Bring out your rainbows England and let the fun commence. If there is lightening the race start time will be postponed until there has been 30 minutes lightning free. If there are severe weather conditions participants will be contacted prior to the event so it is important the email addresses and contact telephone numbers are completed correctly within your application. Updates will be on social media and also within our web pages.
